Common Forestry Certifications

Each standard has slightly different context and focus.
- FSC to address deforestation in the tropics, PEFC endorses national scheme worldwide and SFI for medium and large forests in North America
All ensure harvested areas are reforested, laws obeyed and no unauthorized or illegal logging
All depend on third-party audits to measure planning, procedures, systems and performance of on-the-ground forest operations against the predetermined standards
